Aluminum Die Casting Housing of Pivot Side, the part is a pivot side housing, similar to the pivot housing 421-1034 and 421-1035, this pivot side housing have two long threaded pillars, from these two pillars, there to be two shaft assembled. then with a mating motor side housing, the DC motor work inside the housings. There are two difficult points, not like the pivot housing 421-1034, this part has a big flat feature at the bottom of the pillar, the wall thickness is only about 3 mm, the same as the pivot housing, the injection gate can only be located on the bottom flat plate feature, or will be significant problem of short casting on the flat feature, then the pillar has rectangularity request to the bottom surface, so for degating, the operator should pay attention to put the part on a platform, then degate using hammer of wooden material or rubber material, to ensure that part won't deform while degating. What's more, the parts have two long pillars, which has big risk of having problem of density, to run a mold flow analysis to decide a proper injection gate, venting system is very important, otherwise, while machining, there will be big porosity exposed from the thread surfaces, what's worse, while e-coating, under high temperature curing in oven, the porosity now seen from the surface but existing internal will also try to expand to get out, leading to big cosmetic issues on this part. 

About the surface finish of e-coating, for this part, as the flat surface is thin, easy to deform if tumbling, so choose to polish to remove the residual of the gate, the overflow, then use nylon wheel to polish again to enhance the appearance effect. 

At last, the thread pillar is long, during machining, there may be problem of mark of cutter vibration, so the engineer choose to machining twice and lower the machining speed to relief this problem. Also for the fixture for machining, should be suitable to fix the part stable on the machining Lathes.
