Aluminum Die Casting Tractor Engine Cover, the material for this part is A380, a kind of most common material, having good processability, for the physical property, this material have good thermal conductivity. The Die Casting criterion carried on this part is Grade GB-CT4, according to the required tolerance and dimensions in terms of the prints, the part has difficulty on CNC machining, especially the rough turning, the section area of the injection gate is not small, but as the lot demand of this part is only 5000+, to develop a trim mold is uneconomic, which probably not be acceptable for the customer, then as the gate is located at the bottom surface which will require machining work to meet the dimension on the print, so in actual production, the engineer design in the control plan to have a rough turning to the bottom surface to remove the gate vestige, then fine turning on the high precision CNC lathe, then drilling and tapping the holes on the double-table machining center.

The part is a functional part, don't have request on the surface finish, such as polishing, tumbling, etc. 

High Pressure Die Casting is a technology that, inject the molten aluminum under high pressure, high speed into the cavity of the mold to solid to the part. So for this process, there usually to be turbulence flow, leading to air trapped in the part, so the porosity is unavoidable, however, this situation can be improved.
